Democratizing Knowledge with
User-Centered Design
Zendy's mission is clear: empower everyone to explore the world of academic knowledge. Recognizing the limitations of shrinking library budgets and rising journal costs, Zendy provides a comprehensive online library – a haven for research across all disciplines.
However, its initial user experience fell short of this noble goal. The platform lacked a consistent brand identity and user recordings revealed confusing navigation structures, making it difficult to find relevant research.
My contribution
Conducted a detailed platform autopsy to identify the user pain points and navigational nightmares.
I worked with the Product manager to align the priorities for Zendy in order to overcome the platform
inconsistencies and and lack of user-centric features. Using the insights from the research, I suggested
features and functionalities that assisted with creating a personalised experience with improved user
engagement.
With the assistance of the UX researcher, i constantly carried out interview sessions with Professors and
students at Sheikh Saud Bin Sakr foundation to get a better understanding of user perception.
